2014. Engine. 6.4. Looking for some help on my 2014 Ram 2500 with a 6.4L and a 68RFE trans at 80,000 miles. I’ve been having some intermittent trouble. When the transmission gets up to temp it will sometimes shift down from 5th or 6th to 4th pretty hard under low load at which point it will no longer shift into 5th or 6th gear until you shut ...It just stays in 4th gear. When stuck in 4th the tranny temp will reach upwards of 240 degrees. The only way to correct it is to pull over and turn truck off for 5-10 minutes and then restart it. Seems to be a computer control issue or something to that effect because all the parts inside the transmission are new.My Ram 1500 had a Bad Shift Solenoid. I do not know for sure which gear but it does not matter if I put it in 1st, 2nd, or overdrive off, it will stay in the same high gear.
